Overview
ComplyDQ's public site is the marketing and lead-generation surface for a DOT Driver Qualification file management platform serving trucking companies, fleet safety managers and compliance consultants. It is deliberately a presentation layer: the authenticated product lives on a separate subdomain and codebase.
Visitors can run three self-contained interactive tools: an Audit Readiness Assessment that scores audit exposure across weighted questions, an ROI Calculator that models annual administrative cost and payback period, and a DQ File Checklist derived from 49 CFR Part 391. All three compute entirely in the browser — nothing is submitted or stored.
The engineering weight sits in delivery rather than application logic: self-hosted behind nginx and a CDN, deployed by a blue-green script with slot detection, asset-level validation and automatic rollback.
The challenge
The site migrated from a legacy WordPress install whose search index had been compromised by an SEO spam injection, with only nine pages carrying real content worth preserving. The domain's search presence was actively working against the business.
The rebuild treats index hygiene as a deploy-time concern. Rather than blanket-redirecting, the migration distinguishes intent: legitimate pages get permanent redirects while spam URLs return 410 Gone, because a 301 would transfer the spam's accumulated reputation onto the new domain. Indexability is derived from the build's own domain and asserted in both directions at deploy time, because a noindex in production produces no visible symptom and only surfaces weeks later.
Building custom follows from two constraints: the interactive tools encode real domain logic cited to primary sources, and the pricing calculator must stay numerically identical to the platform's real billing by importing the same constants.
